Emily Hunt's was a standout winner who decorated not only her bicycle with red, white and blue fringe, but also donned a patriotic outfit that featured silver stars on her blue tutu. Congratulations Emily!
Camden Scott decorated her bike with patriotic flags and lots of sparkly garland. She incorporated a blue and white baby whale as a handlebar ornament. Very creative Camden!
Friends Declan Cooke and Carter Freese teamed up to display bikes with very tall red, white and blue firecrackers attached to their handlebars. Their innovative design was a clever and explosive look that added a spark to the parade.
After the parade participants and spectators enjoyed snow cones and a chance to visit and celebrate America's 250th Birthday. Pictures can be found in the Gallery.

The Little Car Library has been recently installed in Dinosaur Park on Larkfield Dr.

Please replace a car for each one taken from the library. If you have small cars you would like to donate, feel free to add them to the collection.

The shrubbery that runs along the El Dorado side of Brook Forest is the victim of the sub-freezing temperatures we have encountered over the last few winter seasons, as well as the drought we have experienced. They are trying to make a comeback and are exhibiting new grown from the bottoms of the bushes.
To give them a fighting chance to gain some significant growth, they will be trimmed to a height of 3 – 3.5 feet. While we understand that this may be unsightly for a while, this approach is our best option because the area where the bushes are planted does not belong to the Brook Forest Community Association. It is owned by the City of Houston, and we have no right-of-way to build a decorative wall (as many of the residents have requested). Currently, the City of Houston has no plans to replant the shrubbery or to build any type of barrier. So, our hands are tied, leaving us the best and only option of having our landscape contractor trim them in an attempt to encourage growth and regain the visual and sound barrier previously provided by the bushes.
As a Board, we know that this is not the most ideal option, and we wish it was in our purview to do more. Please know and understand that, as always, the Board is committed to making the best available choices in the upkeep of our community.
For this year's patriotic holidays, American Flags will be placed at Brook Forest Entrances by the Scouts of Troop 1513. Flags will be displayed on five holidays in 2025:
